The main goal of our training courses is to help you become skilled and confident in speaking Dutch. We focus on communication in everyday life and in the workplace. Language levels A0-B2.

Course format
- Course period: March 1 – July 1 2026
- 16 weeks, total class time: 48 hours
- 2 classes per week, 1,5 hours each
- Class times during office hours
- Virtual classroom, online via Zoom
- Group size: 7-10 participants
- Language levels A0 to B2, grouped by entry level
- Course price: €1.150,- , free intake for new students

Are you new at Heikens Taaltraining and have you taken a Dutch course elsewhere? After registration we will invite you for a free intake interview to determine your current level, so that you can continue learning in the right course group.

Courses A0-A2
A2.1 Course information
In this course
you will learn the basics of Dutch to get by in everyday situations in the workplace and in social life. The aim is to feel confident in simple conversations in both professional and informal situations. Speaking is central.
You learn
to introduce yourself, greet and say goodbye, ask questions, order something in the café and checkout, shop at the market, make appointments and make a proposal.
You practice
important grammar, such as the basic structure of a sentence, the present tense of verbs, personal and possessive pronouns, asking questions with and without question words, inversion rule, plural of nouns, adjectives (adjectives) and modal verbs.
You train
your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.

A2.2 Course information
In this course
you will expand your vocabulary and grammatical knowledge from beginner level to level A1+ Speaking skills are central.
You learn
to have a conversation in a shop, to ask and give information about housing, to make an appointment and have a conversation with your GP, to express a complaint to make clear that you don't understand something and to have a small talk conversation in an informal setting.
You practice
new grammar topics, such as comparative and superlative, denial, past perfect tense and simple past tense and reflexive verbs.
You train
your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.

A2.3 Course information
In this course
you stabilise the knowledge from previous chapters and complete language level A2.
You learn
to ask and point the way, to give your opinion and ask someone else's opinion, to promise, to describe, to present with 'this / that is / are' and talking about previous events and experiences
You practice
new grammar: separable verbs, the different ways to use "will", future tense, present continuous and conjunctions.
You train
your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.

Courses A2-B1
B1.1 Course information
In this course
You start with level B1 and further stabilise your language skills at level A2.
You practise grammar topics
perfect tense and simple past tense, the use of auxiliary verb ‘will’ and ‘would’, two types of conjunctions and past perfect tense.
You expand your vocabulary
with past tense words, practical vocabulary for daily activities and all kind of objects in the home, positional verbs and fixed combinations (verb-noun, verb-preposition)
You train
your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.

B1.2 Course information
In this course
you take the next step to be able to express yourself better and better in Dutch.
You learn
to discuss, inform, request information on money matters, make a complaint and respond to a complaint and give instruction
You practice
direct and indirect speech, open and closed questions, direct and indirect questions, separable verbs in main clause and subclause, the construction “to-infinitive” and different forms of present continuous.
You expand your vocabulary
with words to do with transport, with money matters and insurance, with hobbies and holidays, words for using all kinds of electrical devices at home and at work and fixed combinations (verb-noun, verb-preposition)
You train
You train your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.

B1.3 Course information
In this course
you complete B1 level en stabilise your language skills at this level.
You learn
to give instructions, indicate your preference and inquire about another person's preference, , make informal and formal phone calls and talk about your education, work experience and personal qualities.
You practice
reflexive verbs, verbs with "te" and "om ... te", relative sentences, passive sentences, and the use of “er”.
You train
your listening skills and receive regular feedback on pronunciation, clarity and fluency of speech.
