What do I need, in oder to follow online classes?
You need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop.
Taking classes with an iPad or phone is not recommended.
What language skills do the group courses focus on?
The courses are aimed at developing your speaking and listening skills in Dutch.
In addition to learning words and basic grammar, we focus on pronunciation and fluency during the classes.
Can I use this course to prepare for my integration exam?
This course is not an exam training, but many students use the lessons together with online information to pass their integration exams.
How do I know which course to choose?
Once your registration is finalised, you will be assigned to the appropriate course group.
Those who have already taken a course at Heikens Taaltraining will be placed in the next level of the learning route.
If you have completed route A0-A2, you can start with route A2-B1.
Those who are new to Heikens Taaltraining will be invited for an intake interview to determine the appropriate course group.
On which days and at what times are the classes?
Classes are scheduled during the workday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
We try to avoid the busy office hours.
Three weeks before the start of the course, you will receive a placement notification with the course days and times.
Can I continue with the same teacher and the same group?
We will try to do so, but cannot guarantee it.
What does language level A1 - A2 - B1 - B2mean?
These are the levels described in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
This European framework describes the language proficiency from A1 (basic) up to C2 (full mastery and fluency).
Will I receive a certificate after the course?
After the course, you will receive a certificate if you have attended at least 80 percent of the classes.
If your results are not satisfactory, or if you were absent more often, you will receive a certificate of participation.
What happens if I miss a classes?
If you miss a class, the teacher will let you know what was covered in the class so that you can catch up before the next class.
Classes will not be recorded for privacy reasons.
Does the course fee include the course materials?
The books are not included in the course fee.
When you receive the placement notification, you will receive information about ordering your course book.
How do I cancel my registration?
You can only cancel the course by email up to 7 days before the start of the training. In that case, no payment is due.
If you cancel later than 7 days before the start of the course, you will owe 100% of the course fee.
